Thanks for stopping by! We are a small group of determined women who believe in the power of fashion to create change. Every time we pay for a product we become part of the route that product has travelled. It's not just about what we bought or why we bought it, but all the hands that have touched it and places it has been are now connected to us. That journey can be positive, life-giving and can help to solve huge social problems. Or it can cause harm. At Route we hunt for products whose route carries with them dignity, hope and sustainability AND are beautiful.
Join us on our journey by purchasing and questioning and bringing your voice to our community. Have fun and happy ethical shopping!
Love, Christina and Jessica
Christina Weaver helped found the Route nonprofit in 2008. She is a strong advocate of ethical fashion and mindful purchasing. As our board chair, she runs our day to day operations and vision-casting. Her hope is that through Route, customers will have access to fashion forward ethical clothing at a reasonable price. When she is not making Route happen she is momming her two permanent and other foster children.
Jessica Penner has worked in Fair Trade retail and product development since 2009 and has been with Route since 2015 as the brand manager and online director. She is passionate about using business principles to create practical, lasting and impactful change. She is currently getting her MBA at Olin Business School at Washington University in St. Louis.
Route is a nonprofit, 501c3, organization that alleviates poverty by selling ethically produced goods and educates our community on the impact of employment and empowerment. See our non-profit 990 here.
